Our boats are located at Las
Gaviotas Resort in Golfito. Las Gaviotas is situated just at the start of
Golfito -- a
short taxi or bus ride from the "downtown". The waterfront
location with itslong pier makes it ideal for our
sportfishing crowd. All guest rooms amid attractive gardens, face the ocean. The
open-air restaurant looks over the pool to the gulf and provides a great view.
Costa Rica Marlin Fishing Charter
Our recently located two brand new HOT marlin fishing areas. On a
recent Costa Rica charter fishing trip we found marlin and experienced
an unusually high amount of hookups in a previously rarely fished
region off the Costa Rica coast. Will these new hot
spots continue to produce? So far that has

Village offers a collection of individual

onland extending out into the gulf. The restaurant
and bar have a large central deck built under and around a large
fig tree that's frequented by scarlet macaws.
There's a small-resort feel to the whole operation with its smallbeach andtrail through
the mangroves..
Iguana Lodge a short distance from Puerto Jimenez offers three lodging options: the secluded Casitas, the towering Villa Villa Kula, and the Club Rooms.
La Perla located next to Iguana Lodge and the Golfo Dulce Lodge offering reasonable rates with outstanding local food on a beautiful beach setting.
A variety of
tours are advertised around town, with most of the excursions going to
nearby Corcovado National Park. The national park has its headquarters
here, and this town makes an excellent base for exploring this vast
wilderness. A growing surfer
community come to Cabo Matapalo (the southern tip
of the Osa Peninsula) because of its several very dependable right
point breaks.
In the Osa Peninsula, world class Lapa
Rios is Costa Rica's most famous ecolodge. The hotel
buildings perched along a steep ridge. Eachroom is totally
private and
oriented toward the view with a large
deck, asmall tropical garden, with a hammock. There are no TVs, no telephones, no
air-conditioning, no discos, no shopping, no paved roads, and no crowds
for a total decompresing experience.
Back in Golfito another great option is the Hotel Sierra
(offering 72 rooms),
located near the airport andthe Duty Free shops and hosting
the only casino in the region, this hotel is an excellent option to be
considered.

Bolaños International Airport.
The
flights to Golfito or Puerto Jimenez take about 45 minutes
andthe cost is approximately $110 each way.
By Car
-- If you decide to drive to Golfito or Puerto Jimenez, we
highly
encourage you to reserve a four-wheel-drive vehicle with GPS.
You should allow 5 to 7 hours for the scenic drive through the green Costa Rican Mountains.
By Boat
-- Once you are in Golfito, if you are heading to Puerto Jimenez, there
is daily passenger launch service from
Golfito to Puerto Jiménez. The boat leaves from the
municipal dock. Trip duration is a 1/2 hour. The
return trip departs Puerto Jiménez for Golfito from the
public dock.
